This disbelief is quite understandable and results from a very common but mistaken conception of what mathematics really is.
私の解答: 数学は、現代文化の不可欠な要素であるばかりか、現代文化を形成する主要な原動力であるという主張は一般大衆には信じがたく思われるであろうし、精々極度な誇張であると思われるであろう。この主張を信じられないのは全く理解に苦しくないし、それは数学の本質についてのごくありきたりな、しかし間違った概念からくるものである。
